The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
