Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
